Spring Art

Ashley Kistler, the curator for the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, commissioned me to photograph her garden over the course of a year, and create a piece for her. The resulting piece, AK Garden, was framed and installed this past Spring.

During March, I showed work with photographers Aimee Helene Koch and Amanda Sauer at Richmond's Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Nellie Appleby curated the show. I exhibited Folia 3 (Yellow), part of the nascent Folia 3 uber-werk. (It's good to have aspirations.) The show was reviewed at Richmond.com:

A Blast from the Past

I now have my MFA in photography. (But I still take blurry photos.) The night that my MFA exhibit opened at the Anderson Gallery here in Richmond (Friday May 6th 2005) brought friends and relatives from near and far.

All of the photos are courtesy of Michael K Lease, who also graduated from the VCU MFA photography program.

What have I gotten myself into??

Here I am, about to join the 21st century with a genuine blog! I hope their software doesn't automatically pester me to write every day.
